Parent Support Advisor

Hi, I would like to introduce myself - my name's Cate and I am the Parent Support Adviser for Bridlewood and other schools in the local area. My role is to support you and your child by providing support, advice and information. Have you ever been worried about your child's education, behaviour or attendance, and wondered where you could get advice? I am here to offer impartial and confidential support whether you just need a listening ear, practical advice or signposting to other services I also hope to arrange opportunities to share ideas with others.

TaMHS Support

My name is Jo Bradley, I've been working with children, young people and their families for over 20 years in and around the Swindon area, and currently I am working with the Targeted Mental Health Service as an Outreach Worker. The Targeted Mental Health Service (TaMHs) is a Tier 2 early intervention service. Our aim is to ensure that the emotional and mental health needs of children and young people are supported with an appropriate intervention. I come into Bridlewood for one morning each week, and deliver a range of interventions including small group work around self-esteem; social skills and Friendships groups; 1:1 for anxiety related difficulties through various interventions, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused work and behaviour and emotional management strategies. For Parents and Carers and I can arrange consultation meetings in school or at home; and can refer and signpost onto relevant services if required. We are the single point of access for CaMHs, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. We accept referrals from schools, GP's and other professional services. If you would like a consultation or would like to make a referral please speak to either Jo Garton or Rachel Hickman SENCO. Requirements for a referral:
1. Parental consent
2. A completed TaMHs referral form
3. A completed strengths and difficulties questionnaire www.sdqinfo.org
4. Early Help Record (where applicable)
